Pull up a chair in my domestic church and let's talk
I have worn many labels (Not in any particular order): Catholic, Wife, Mom,Gramma, Doctor, Major, Soccer Mom, Military Wife, Fellow. All of these filter my views of the world. I hope that like St. Monica, I can through prayer, words and example, lead my children and others to Faith.

Is Sonia Sotomayor Catholic?
Everyone is labeling Judge Sonia Sotomayor as the sixth Catholic Justice of the Supreme Court? Is that an accurate description? I am not so sure.
Actually, we are not baptized Catholic, Methodist, or any other denomination. We are baptized Christian. That is why the Church recognizes the baptisms of other Christian sects as long as the proper form is used: I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. No gender neutral or feminized formulas allowed. The indelible mark on our soul claims us for Christ. Membership in the Catholic Church is a matter of our free will.

Well, technically, if she was baptized Catholic, then she is a Catholic. Baptism imprints an indelible character on one's soul.
Now, whether she's a faithful Catholic, a lapsed Catholic, or a heretic is another matter!
